Harford County Public Schools Makes Weather Decision

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Public schools in Harford County are opening late Friday due to road conditions, officials announced Friday morning. Morning prekindergarten is canceled, and so is child care before school, according to administrators.

Harford County Public Schools — including virtual instruction and offices – will open two hours later than usual, officials said.

A winter weather advisory is in effect until 10 a.m. Friday for Harford County due to the potential for dangerous travel conditions because of freezing rain.

Drivers should slow down and be extra careful. Pedestrians should watch their first steps on sidewalks, driveways and stairs due to the potential for ice.
