Harford County Under Wind Advisory

Gusts of 50 mph are possible during the wind advisory period, according to the National Weather Service.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for Harford and Cecil counties Saturday.

Winds may be 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. Tree limbs may blow down, power outages may result and objects that are not secured could be blown away.

The wind advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 7.

Specifically, the advisory stated Aberdeen, Elkton and Jarrettsville may be affected.

Drivers should be extra careful while driving, especially if they use a high-profile vehicle.

Rain and possible flooding are also in the forecast for Harford County on Saturday.

About 1 to 2 inches of rain fell by early Saturday morning, and Harford County remains under a flood watch until noon.

"Additional rain showers are possible today, coupled with cool temps & breezy winds," the National Weather Service said in a statement.

Many of the rivers, creeks and small streams will see waters continue to rise.

“Looks like another day of rain for Harford County,” County Executive Barry Glassman said in a statement Saturday morning. “Watch for flooding & be safe.”

If they come across water of unknown depth, drivers should turn around; don't drown.

Saturday: Rain. High near 51. Breezy, with an east wind around 22 mph, with gusts as high as 44 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Saturday night: Rain. Low around 40. Breezy, with a northeast wind 16 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 39 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Sunday: Rain likely, mainly before 8 a.m. Cloudy, with a high near 51. Northeast wind around 17 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Sunday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 41. Northeast wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 62. Northeast wind 11 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.

Monday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 42.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 66.

Tuesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 45.
