Joppa Man Indicted In Fatal Crash From 2021
A driver has been arrested more than six months after he crashed into an SUV, killing one woman and injuring two children in Edgewood.

BEL AIR, MD — More than six months after causing a deadly crash on Trimble Road, a Joppa man was charged with negligent manslaughter and reckless driving.
Philip Alan Buchanan, 33, of the 500 block of Dembyton Road in Joppa, was indicted March 1 on charges including criminal manslaughter, negligent manslaughter, negligent driving, failure to drive right of center and reckless driving.
The charges stem from a deadly crash that happened around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 29, in the 1500 block of Trimble Road.

Investigators said Buchanan was driving a Chevrolet Silverado that crossed the yellow line and drove head-on into a Hyundai Santa Fe. Linda Diamond, 59, of Edgewood, was killed, and two 11-year-old children were hospitalized, officials reported at the time.
A warrant was issued for Buchanan's arrest on March 1, and the Harford County Sheriff's Office took Buchanan into custody on April 4.

He is being held without bail, court records show.
