Man Killed By Deputies Identified: Harford County Sheriff

The man killed by deputies in Forest Hill has been identified.

FOREST HILL, MD — Investigators have identified the person who died Saturday after being shot by deputies as a Whiteford man.

John Raymond Fauver, 53, of the 1400 block of Old Pylesville Road, was pronounced deceased at an area trauma center, officials said.

Deputies fired at Fauver after officers were called around 2:45 p.m. on Saturday to handle a report of a suicidal person believed to be in possession of a long gun, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office.

After searching for nearly an hour and conversing with the man over the phone, investigators said they found him behind the CVS in the 1500 block of Rock Spring Road in Forest Hill.

The deputies who shot at Fauver had activated their body cameras, according to the sheriff’s office. Body cameras of other law enforcement personnel at the scene and several in-car cameras were also active, authorities reported.
