SUV Stolen From Harford County May Lead To Homicide Suspects: Sheriff
A man died by homicide in Harford County, according to investigators, who say his vehicle is missing.

EDGEWOOD, MD — After a Harford County man was found dead in his home recently, deputies are investigating his death as a homicide. Officials said his SUV was stolen, and it may be linked to those responsible for his murder.
Gerald Wayne Champ, 71, was deceased in the 2300 block of Perry Avenue, where officers were called for a report of a man in cardiac arrest on Friday, Feb. 18.
Officials said Champ died from upper body trauma between Feb. 14 and Feb. 18, based on his autopsy.

His faded gray 2003 Ford Explorer was stolen from his home, "possibly by those involved in the homicide," the Harford County Sheriff's Office reported Tuesday. The vehicle has a Maryland registration of 09680HT, officials said.
Investigators determined Champ's death was an isolated incident, after pursuing leads over the weekend.

It is the first homicide for Harford County in 2022, Cristie Hopkins, spokesperson for the sheriff’s office, told Patch.
