Man Shot During Attempted Robbery, Police Search For Suspect

The Aberdeen Police asks for the public's help in tracking down the suspect they say shot a man in the hand during an attempted robbery.

ABERDEEN, MD — A man told police that a person tried to rob him then shot him in the hand during a struggle.

The incident happened Nov. 22. According to the Aberdeen Police Department, a man went to the UM Upper Chesapeake Medical Center Aberdeen after being shot during an attempted robbery. The hospital contacted the police department shortly before 10 p.m.

The man told police he walked to a friend's home after the shooting, then was driven to the hospital. Officers canvassed multiple locations searching for the suspect, but no crime scene could be found.

The Aberdeen Police Department asks that anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity, heard a gunshot or has additional information that could help investigators to contact Detective Sergeant Shoffstall at 410-272-2121 and follow these steps: press # 2, press #8, and dial extension 162..

"Even small details may help establish where the incident occurred and identify those involved," the police department stated.
