Officials said the new ambulance was added through a partnership between the Harford County Government and local fire companies as they handle an increasing demand.
Calls for service in Harford County were up about 9 percent from 2019 to 2021, according to Cindy Mumby, director of governmental and community relations for Harford County.

First responders handled 30,000 calls countywide last year, she said.
"Bel Air is always one of the busiest areas," Mumby said in a statement to Patch. She noted this is the third active ambulance the county has; the others are at the Aberdeen Fire Department's station in Perryman and at the Harford County Department of Emergency Services building on Ady Road in Forest Hill.
The first Harford County-owned ambulance hit the road in 2018 to meet the growing need for emergency services.
Adding the ambulance at Patterson Mill represents a "new era of partnership" between the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company (BAVFC) and Harford County, according to BAVFC member Rich Gardiner.
