Flipped Tractor-Trailer Closed I-95 Near Joppa: 6 Hurt, Officials Say
A tanker crash closed Interstate 95 near MD Route 152 on Thursday, according to authorities.
HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A rollover crash involving a fuel tanker closed Interstate 95 in Harford County for hours on Thursday, according to police. Multiple people were injured, authorities said.
Before 10:15 a.m., a vehicle overturned on I-95 near the exit for MD 152/Mountain Road, the Maryland Transportation Authority reported.
A tractor-trailer flipped near mile marker 72.6, crossing the wall separating I-95 north and south, according to photos from the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company.

At least one person was trapped and had to be rescued, the Kingsville Volunteer Fire Company reported.

Spilled diesel fuel prompted hazmat crews to respond, officials said.
Six people were treated for injuries described as not life-threatening, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department.
At first, all lanes were closed in the area, officials said. Drivers were advised to take US 40, MD 7 or US 1 as alternate routes.
Congestion was heavy on state roads nearby, according to the Maryland State Highway Administration. Philadelphia Road, Mountain Road, Belair Road and Jerusalem Road were backed up after 1 p.m., Kingsville fire officials reported, along with Route 40 and I-695 east toward Essex.
After 12:15 p.m., authorities reported main lanes were closed, but traffic was getting by in both directions on the shoulders on I-95.
By 1:45 p.m., all lanes had reopened from the crash, according to state transportation officials.
