Community Pet Vaccination Clinic Offering Shots, Microchips, Nail Trims In Darlington
Pet owners can take advantage of a public vaccination clinic also offering microchips, nail chips and more.
HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A pet vaccination clinic open to the public will be held Feb. 22 at the Darlington Volunteer Fire Company.
The event hosted by the Humane Society of Harford County will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and offer vaccines, microchips and nail trims. They will be given on a first come, first served basis and appointments are not required.
“Our clinics are for everyone, regardless of zip code or income level,” said Erin Long, manager of marketing and development at HSHC. “Our goal is to offer affordable core vaccines to protect pets from preventable illness and disease.”
Specifically, the clinic will offer distemper and Bordetella for dogs, distemper for cats and rabies vaccines for dogs, cat and ferrets. Vaccines are $10 each. Pets also can be microchipped at the clinic for $25. Special guest Heart to Heart Mobile Pet Care, LLC will be onsite from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., offering nail trims for $20 per animal.
Animals must be at least 4 months old to be vaccinated. To ensure the safety of everyone, dogs must be on a non-retractable leash with a properly fitted collar and cats and ferrets must be safely contained inside a carrier. Because the clinic will be held in the open truck bays, humans should dress for cold winter weather and be prepared to stand outdoors in line.
