Police Search For Vehicle Involved In Fatal Hit-And-Run In Abingdon

Maryland State Police continues to search for the vehicle and driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run early Sunday morning in Abingdon.

ABINGDON, MD — Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed a 33-year-old in Harford County this past weekend.

Around 2:08 a.m. Sunday, troopers from the Maryland State Police JFK Memorial Highway Barrack were called to the area of northbound I-95 just south of the Riverside Parkway exit for a crash involving a pedestrian. According to a preliminary investigation, a man was walking in the left lane when he was hit by a vehicle, described as a 2021-2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The driver of the Jeep Grand Cherokee did not to remain on the scene, according to the Maryland State Police.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identification has been withheld pending next of kin notification, the MSP stated.

The Maryland State Police Crash Team is leading the investigation.
