Bel Air Mall Redevelopment Project Prompts Closure Of Popular DMV Eatery

The Greene Turtle officially closed its doors Wednesday at Harford Mall in Bel Air. The restaurant has many other locations in the DMV.

BEL AIR, MD — The Greene Turtle at Harford Mall in Bel Air has closed. The eatery has multiple locations across the DMV and in New York, New Jersey and the Virginias and moved into the mall in June 2015.

The restaurant closed Wednesday as part of a redevelopment plan at the mall, according to The Baltimore Sun. Owners held a "shellabration" or closing party that day.

A chunk of the mall's parking lot will be redeveloped into 249 apartments and a four-story parking garage, along with two residential courtyards and 12,000 square feet of amenities, according to documents, Patch reported previously. The Greene Turtle follows other closings at the mall like Gamestop, Macy's and For You Entertainment.
