HARFORD COUNTY, MD — The range fire at Aberdeen Proving Ground began creeping further across the county Sunday, officials noted, before rainfall helped extinguish it.

On Nov. 3, the Aberdeen Proving Ground Fire and Emergency Services began actively managing a large brush fire that produced visible smoke. Emergency workers with Aberdeen Proving Ground had been monitoring the smoldering range fire for the past several days.

"Unprecedented dryness and winds, as well as the smoldering of stumps, trees and topography continue to produce smoke. With high westerly winds and low humidity, the smoke is traveling into Harford County," the Harford County Fire and Rescue EMS stated Sunday.
