Sheetz Announces $2 Per Hour Wage Increase, Summer Hiring

BEL AIR, MD – Restaurant and convenience store chain Sheetz announced Monday it will increase all of its store employees' salaries by $2 per hour, and plans to hire more workers this summer.
The company-wide wage increase will go into effect on May 21 and equates to a $50 million annual investment. Sheetz has also announced a summer stimulus program, which will provide store employees with an additional $1 per hour wage increase from May 21 until Sept. 23.
“To attract and retain top talent, we know we need to continue to invest in our employees,” Travis Sheetz, President and COO of Sheetz said in the announcement. “That investment includes more than just competitive wages. We provide career growth opportunities and a clear path to promotion so life at Sheetz can be not just a job, but a career.”

Sheetz also plans to hire more than 2,000 employees for open positions at its 622 stores, including its Maryland locations.

Sheetz recently updated the company’s parental leave policy which includes 12 weeks of fully paid time off for new mothers and two weeks of fully paid time off for partners.
The chain operates stores throughout Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia and North Carolina.
