Shooting Suspect Arrested Outside Home With Weapon In Vehicle
An Aberdeen man has been arrested in the shooting of a Bel Air man he knew outside a liquor store, police say.
ABINGDON, MD — Police have arrested the suspect wanted in connection to a fatal shooting outside a liquor store Monday afternoon.
The incident happened around 4:08 p.m. Nov. 4 outside the Friendship Wine and Liquors next to a Wawa in the 3500 block of Woodsdale Road. Police arrived on the scene to find Eric Chi Fonong Igwacho, 27, of Bel Air, with a gunshot wound to the lower body. Police said the suspect and victim knew each other.
Igwacho was flown to a local trauma center for treatment of injuries not considered life-threatening, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office. Detectives identified the suspect, Justin Matthew Schlotterbeck, 41, of Aberdeen. An arrest warrant was obtained by detectives charging Schlotterbeck with attempted first-degree murder and other charges related to the shooting. Deputies found Schlotterbeck inside his vehicle parked in front of his home. He was taken into custody without incident. During a search of his vehicle, detectives found and confiscated a handgun that had been disassembled, police stated.
