Shops At Harford Mall: New Restaurant Plans Come Into Focus
A business with a drive-thru for online orders will be coming to Bel Air.
BEL AIR, MD — A Mediterranean grill will be coming to the development near the Harford Mall.
The Shops at Harford Mall is being built where Sears was. It will contain a grocery store spanning more than 43,000 square feet as well as over 16,500 square feet of retail space, according to plans from developer SJC Ventures.
After demolishing the old Sears in February and March, crews have spent the spring months so far preparing the site for new construction.

Plans show The Shops at Harford Mall will consist of three major buildings — one with a grocery store and two others for retail.
Developers asked to revise the end-cap of one of the retail buildings on Thursday, according to Bel Senior Planner Rowan Glidden.

On the north end of the arm facing Tollgate Road, he said a restaurant was proposed. It will be a type of Mediterranean grill, Glidden told the Bel Air Planning Commission at its May 5 meeting.
While the name of the Mediterranean grill was not provided, Glidden said the plans for the eatery were shifting slightly and coming into focus.
"They're proposing a drive-thru for pickup only of online orders," Glidden said. "They're actually eliminating that outdoor dining area to accomplish this."
The site plan showed a 560-square-foot patio, which would be changed to accommodate the drive-thru.
“We’ll be working back and forth with them to reconfigure that," Glidden said. "We think it's likely going to work for us as well as the and also provide an opportunity to reduce that massive paving area."
Said Glidden: "We're hopeful that's going to work out."
