Thunderstorms In Bel Air Forecast: National Weather Service

A storm is headed for parts of Harford and Baltimore counties, according to the National Weather Service.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Thunderstorms are expected to roll through the Mid-Atlantic ahead of a cold front that will hit Monday, according to the National Weather Service. Harford County is among the areas that may be affected, forecasters said Sunday night.

A strong thunderstorm was detected near Cockeysville before 6:45 p.m. on Sunday, and it was moving southeast at 20 mph, according to the National Weather Service. Small hail and wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph are possible in areas around the storm, officials said, citing radar.

These locations may be impacted, forecasters advised: Cockeysville, Towson, Bel Air South, Parkville, Bel Air North, Carney, Perry Hall, Rossville, Mays Chapel, Timonium, White Marsh, Fallston, Hampton, Kingsville, Pleasant Hills, Jarrettsville, Lutherville-Timonium, Lutherville, Glen Arm and Fork.

As the cold front pushes into the region Sunday into Monday, authorities said damaging wind gusts, isolated tornadoes and large hail are potential concerns. However, the conditions will not last long.

"The strong spring cold front will exit into the western Atlantic by Monday night, ushering in comfortable temperatures and increasingly tranquil conditions for the region on Tuesday," forecasters reported.
