
A transformer on Moores Mill Road in Bel Air exploded Friday prompting the shut down of power in the area, according to fire officials.
The explosion took place shortly before 5:40 p.m. Friday in the 900 block of Moores Mill Road, an official post to the Harford County Md Fire & EMS PIO Media Page states.
"[M]any along the north end of Bel Air and south of Hickory," were left without power, the post states.
BGE crews arrived at the scene around 6 p.m., according to a separate Facebook post from Rich Gardiner, spokesman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.
Estimated restoration times vary from 8:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m., according to the utility's outage map.
