Unique MD Bakery Opens + Boat Show In Historic Setting + BBQ Bash Cooks Up Fun: MD Business News

With the start of fall comes an abundance of events perfect for an afternoon of fun.

The highly anticipated Annapolis Powerboat Show will take place Oct. 2-5, while the Annapolis Sailboat Show will be held Oct. 9-12. People from near and far are drawn to historic downtown Annapolis along City Dock on the Annapolis harbor for the big event.

The annual MD State BBQ Bash, happening Oct. 10-11, not only helps BBQ teams qualify for big national events, but also shines a light on Bel Air and all it has to offer. Patch chatted with Jenny Erhard, executive director of the Bel Air Downtown Alliance, who shared that 35,000 to 40,000 people usually attend the festivities from within the county and as far away as overseas.

On Oct. 4, Symphony Woods at Merriweather Park will transform into a winding wonderland of sights and sounds - and flavors - at the new Wanderland event. The Hops and Harvest Festival organizers have teamed up with those behind the Baltimore Craft Beer Festival to introduce Wanderland where patrons are invited to wander along the paths sampling various beverages, enjoying live music, delving into delicious food and soaking up the sights of fall.

Of course, if you aren't stuffed from sampling barbecue or tasty treats at these events, be sure and swing by a new bakery opening in Cockeysville. Tous les Jours, a French-Asian bakery, expects to open in the Hunt Valley Towne Centre this winter. It will be its third location in Baltimore County.

Fall Boat Shows Returning To Annapolis: What To Know

The 55th edition of the Sailboat Show and the 53rd edition of the Powerboat Show returns to Annapolis for 2025. Patch has the scoop on where to park, what tickets cost, etc.

New Wanderland Event Features MD Beverages, Food, Music, Artisans

Wanderland runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 4 with five regional tasting zones featuring Maryland beer, wine and spirits. Patrons can enjoy an artisan market featuring a variety of goods. There also will be WanderPods where people can take a moment and relax.

Celebrating Bel Air At The Annual MD State BBQ Bash

The 2025 event will be Oct. 10 from 4 to 10 p.m. and Oct. 11 from noon to 10 p.m. The event will be held rain or shine. Serving as a qualifying event for the two national BBQ competitions also puts Bel Air on the map.

Rapidly Growing Bakery Opening In Cockeysville

Tous les Jours will open in a 1,667-square-foot space on the lower level between The Good Feet Store and Quickway. The cafe has been expanding rapidly in Maryland. The artisan bakery debuted in Catonsville this April and opened in Towson this July.
