Wednesday Route 24 Crash Claims Bel Air Woman's Life

The crash sent two others to local hospitals as well.

The Bel Air community is mourning the loss of a friend and family member in the wake of a deadly Wednesday morning crash on MD Route 24.

Around 8:17 a.m. Wednesday, Robert Corbin, of New Port, Rhode Island was driving a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe southbound on Route 24 in the area of Wheel Road, according to a release from Maryland State Police.

At the same time, Consquella Zebley Frieswyk of Bel Air was driving eastbound on Route 24 in a 2012 Subaru Outback, the release states.

The Hyundai failed to stop at a red light while eastbound on Wheel Road and hit Frieswyk's car on the driver's side as it passed through the intersection, according to state police.

Both vehicles went off the road and came to a stop in the median. Both the driver and passenger of the Hyundai were taken to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center for treatment of injuries that were not life-threatening, the release states.

Frieswyk, however, sustained life-threatening injuries in the crash and has since passed away, state police confirmed Thursday.
