What Season Does Your Garden Think It Is?
At least one Bel Air area garden was budding instead of hibernating just days before Christmas.
The day after the shortest—but certainly not the coldest—day of the year, one Bel Air garden was starting to bloom.
Instead of hiding out through the winter, some of the flowers in my garden decided this was the perfect time to sprout.
Thursday was the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year and the official start of winter. The temperatures did not match the season however, and I know I left my winter coat in the car during the mild Thursday and Friday afternoons.
