4 Maryland Companies Among Fortune 500
Familiar names, with all climbing higher on the popular list released this week by Fortune Magazine.

Fortune Magazine has released its exclusive Fortune 500 list for the 2015 fiscal year and Maryland has 4 companies on the list.
Overall, WalMart led the overall list with sales of $482.1 billion.
The top Maryland company on the list is Bethesda's Lockheed Martin at No. 60 with $46.1 billion in revenues in 2015.

The 62nd annual Fortune list makes up two-thirds of the United States’ gross domestic product (GDP), Fortune said.
According to the publisher's methodology, businesses are ranked based on total revenues for their respective fiscal years and file financial statements with a government agency.

Maryland's Fortune 500 companies and their revenue (in millions) include:
- 60. Lockheed Martin, $46,132
- 195. Marriott International, $14,486
- 406. Discovery Communications, $6,394
- 472. Host Hotels & Resorts, $5,387
All four companies improved on their ranking last year.
Beyond the 500, Maryland had familiar names listed between 500 and 1,000, including Under Armour, McCormick and T. Rowe Price.
