A Wrap-Up of the News Week in Bethesda: March 28 - April 3

This week brought news in education, parking, and more updates on the March 11 murder at Lululemon.

This week, we learned that have been retained for Brittany Norwood, the woman at the Lululemon store in downtown Bethesda March 11.

The lawyers, Christopher Griffiths and Douglas Wood, both practice for Riverdale-based law firm Roberts & Wood. They’re described online as top criminal defense attorneys with experience in homicide cases. The lawyers wouldn’t comment this week on the case.  Norwood is due for a preliminary hearing April 15.

At a Montgomery County Board of Education hearing, board members They also with the caveat that significant issues with the school’s HVAC system remain. More work on the system is planned over spring and summer months and the school system’s division of construction will report back on its progress to the board in September.

There was lots in the way of parking news this week. A resolution was introduced at the Montgomery County Council that would in downtown Bethesda lots and garages. Thursday, County Executive Isiah Leggett also announced the to all of downtown Bethesda. The program is expected to be expanded to the other urban districts by summer.

This week, Patch stopped by a meeting at the Arc of Montgomery County in Rockville where We also shot a video of a at Stone Ridge, where accomplished women mentors stopped by Washington-area schools. At Stone Ridge, students heard from actress Geena Davis, A&E Network CEO Abbe Raven,  Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater artistic director Judith Jamison, and  Alfre Woodard, an actress and founder of Artists for a New South Africa.
