A Wrap-Up of the News Week in Bethesda: April 25- May 1

There was lots in the way of schools news this week, and of course, Royal Wedding fever was rampant.

The news week in Bethesda launched with an announcement that a date has been set for the in downtown Bethesda. The event, organized to honor Lululemon homicide victim Jayna Murray, is set for Sept. 18.

Also on Monday, three days of ceremonies to honor former Maryland governor William Donald Schaefer. Monday evening, Montgomery County Public Schools announced that Joshua P. Starr, the current superintendent of Stamford, Conn. public schools, replacing retiring schools superintendent Jerry Weast.

Friday, Royal Wedding fever was rampant locally and around the globe. Royal Wedding watchers Union Jacks, to watch the royal couple say their “I do’s.”
