A Wrap-Up of the News Week in Bethesda: March 16-21
Development news, the urban district noise bill, the U.S. Open, and the budget all made headlines this week.

This week, Patch reported on a A resident complained about the location of the music stage, which was in close proximity to the Triangle Towers apartment complex. The complaint came as a noise bill intended to amend noise restrictions in urban districts was introduced at the County Council, and officials have said the complaint may illustrate the challenge in promoting the festivals in increasingly residential downtowns.
Patch also reported this week on near the corner of Woodmont Ave. and Battery Lane. The management company is planning to file to re-zone the property as a first step in long range plans to redevelop the apartment buildings, which are the oldest on Battery Lane. But some long-time residents are concerned about the plans, which will eventually require temporary re-location of the tenants.

On Tuesday, the County Council voted to move forward with a public/private deal between developer JBG and Montgomery County to The land swap arrangement, in which the county would offer the land on which the current police station sits to count against the cost of building the new police station, will cost the county $750,000 less, however, after two councilmembers requested another look at the numbers.
