Anthropologie & Co. To Open In Bethesda Row In November

Representatives will meet with the county's Board of License Commissioners this week to seek approval to sell alcohol at the store's cafe.

BETHESDA, MD — The popular clothing and home store Anthropologie & Co. will open in the former Barnes & Noble site in Bethesda Row in November.

The store will span more than 24,000 square feet, which is about three times the size of the average Anthropologie, Sara Goodstein, Director of Public Relations, told Patch.

The space will feature a cafe, home design center, furniture showroom, beauty boutique and shoe salon.

Bethesda Magazine reports the store's November opening and says an exact opening date hasn't been set.

Company representatives will appear before the Montgomery County's Board of License Commissioners on Thursday in hopes of getting approval to sell alcoholic beverages in the cafe.

Anthropologie's "Terrain Cafe" will have both indoor and outdoor seating, Bethesda Magazine reports.

Barnes & Noble closed after 21 years on the corner of Woodmont and Bethesda avenues.
