CityVet Opens Its First MD Location In MoCo
The MoCo location is the first Maryland clinic and the second in the D.C. region for CityVet. It is led and owned by Dr. Amir Nazari.

CHEVY CHASE, MD — CityVet, a growing network of 78 veterinarian-owned practices offering programs serving people through pet care with kindness for over 25 years, has expanded in the Washington, D.C., area with the opening of CityVet Chevy Chase.
Located at 5 Wisconsin Circle, Chevy Chase, in Montgomery County, the clinic opened Dec. 15, and is led and owned by Dr. Amir Nazari.
It is the company's first location in Maryland. The region's other CityVet location is in Alexandria, Virginia.

The clinic will provide services including preventative care, diagnostics, wellness plans, dental treatments, surgery, pain management, and internal medicine.
After graduating from Shiraz University in Iran in 2003, Nazari launched his own clinic and spent a decade building his skills across a variety of veterinary fields. In 2013, he moved to the United States, completed the AVMA’s U.S. licensure pathway for international veterinarians while working as a veterinary technician to deepen his small-animal experience and client communication skills. In 2023, he received his U.S. veterinary license and has since been practicing in Maryland.

“My dream has always been to open a clinic in the United States, something that once felt out of reach,” said Nazari in a news release. “CityVet’s incredible team gave me the guidance and confidence to finally make it a reality.”
Nazari saw an opportunity to build a practice that places equal emphasis on excellent medicine, the human-animal bond, client education, and team well-being, a news release said. His goal is to go beyond treating illness by focusing on preventative care, trust-building, and long-term relationships with pet owners.
“Personalized care is about knowing each pet’s story and meeting families where they are,” added Nazari. “We’ll focus on prevention, clear communication, and a calm, welcoming environment where every pet is treated like our own and every client like family.”
“CityVet is proud to continue expanding in the D.C. Metro area with our new Chevy Chase location,” said CityVet CEO and President David Boguslawski in a statement. “Dr. Nazari’s unique journey, international experience, and commitment to compassionate care make him an ideal partner as we grow our presence in this important market.”
