Armed Suspect Leads Police On Chase Through Bethesda
Police said the person was holding a woman against her will before fleeing from Montgomery County police.

BETHESDA, MD — A person was taken into custody on Monday after police said they held a woman against her will and led officers on a car chase through Bethesda.
Montgomery County police said officers responded to Westlake Drive and Democracy Boulevard after receiving a call about a woman being held against her will by an armed acquaintance.
When officers arrived, they located the suspect's vehicle and attempted to stop it. The suspect drove away, leading officers on a pursuit through Bethesda and onto Interstate 495. The pursuit continued across several roadways before ending safely on Lockwood Drive in White Oak.

Both the suspect and the victim are adults. The suspect, whom police did not identify, was taken into custody. It's unknown at this time if charges will be filed.
No injuries were reported to officers, bystanders or the victim.
