BETHESDA, MD — Construction is under way on the second Montgomery County location of BabyCat Brewery, at 4800 Rugby Ave., with a target opening date of summer 2025, the business recently posted on social media.

The brewery posted shared on Instagram: “What’s up Bethesda! Construction has started (finally)! See you this summer!”

BabyCat’s Bethesda outpost will feature indoor and plaza seating, offering guests a space to enjoy local craft beers, specialty food, and entertainment, according to Donohoe Commercial Real Estate.

Co-founder Terry Redmond told MOCO 360 that BabyCat Brewery & Kitchen will feature a 4,400-square-foot taproom and brewhouse in the ground floor at the Gallery Bethesda II apartment building.

“We’re super excited about it. We really like our concept, and it seems to resonate really well in the community of Kensington. We’re hoping to do the same thing in Bethesda,” Redmond told the website.

Don Konz of DCRE said in a news release last August, “BabyCat is a fantastic addition to our building and the neighborhood. Ownership is excited to welcome a MoCo-born craft brewer to Bethesda and think this store will be a huge hit with our residents and locals alike.”

Other tenants at the retail space include HotWorx, The DripBar, Baruch Café, and Keller Williams.
