Bethesda Woman Charged With Assault, Robbery On Metro Bus: Police

A Bethesda woman is facing charges of assault and robbery in connection with an incident that took place on a bus on Sunday, police said.

BETHESDA, MD — A Bethesda woman is facing charges of assault and robbery in connection with an incident that took place on a Metro bus on Sunday, according to the Montgomery County Police Department.

The woman, Crystal McArthur, 37, was held without bond.

At about 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 18, officers responded to the 7600 block of Wisconsin Ave. for the report of a robbery. Police learned that the adult female victim and the suspect were riding a Metro bus, when for no apparent reason, the suspect assaulted the adult female victim and took her phone.

The suspect then got off the bus and walked away toward Old Georgetown Rd. The victim was transported to an area hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers apprehended McArthur in the area of Old Georgetown Rd. and Edgemoor Rd. While taking her into custody, she assaulted two officers, police said.

McArthur was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit where she was charged with robbery, theft, and multiple counts of assault, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
