Bloomingdale's In White Flint Mall To Close

The in the White Flint Mall will be among the stores that Macy's, Inc. will close across the country this spring, Capital Business reported Wednesday.

Macy's, Inc. plans to close four Bloomingdale's stores and five Macy's stores nationally, according to Capital Business.

The closings are a part of the company's plan to “selectively prune underperforming locations," Macy's chairman, president and chief executive Terry J. Lundgren said in a statement, Capital Business reported.

The White Flint Bloomingdale’s opened in 1977 and has 158 associates, according to Capital Business. Associates will be offered positions at nearby stores "where possible," Capital Business reported, citing a company press release.

Closing sales are set to begin Jan. 10 and are expected to last about 10 weeks.
