BRAC Implementation Committee Meeting Set For Tuesday Night

The hospital with the former Walter Reed Army Medical Center as a part of the federally-mandated Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) process.

The meeting will include an update from Phil Alperson, Montgomery County’s BRAC coordinator, and others on issues including federal funding for BRAC-related transportation improvements and future operations of the BIC following the hospital merger.

After a long push from the community, by the Department of Defense’s Office of Economic Adjustment for improvements to help ease traffic near the Bethesda hospital.

The Maryland State Highway Administration will also discuss the intersection improvement project at Cedar Lane and Rockville Pike and how it will affect NIH; along with an update on traffic signals around the hospital.
