California Tortilla To Move Into Old Cesco Trattoria Space

Chain will re-brand and boast a new look.

Bethesda's California Tortilla will soon boast a new look -- and a new location.

The chain's Bethesda store -- the first to open of about 35 locations in the Washington, D.C. area and the Northeast -- has called 4862 Cordell Avenue home since 1995, said Pam Felix, Bethesda store owner.

Now, the chain is "totally re-branding" and the Bethesda location will move down the street to the old Cesco Trattoria space at 4871 Cordell, Felix said. Cesco Trattoria moved out of its space to become the new along Woodmont Avenue late last year.

Felix said the new space will be modeled around a display kitchen that will emphasize the chain's "fresh food and fresh cooking."

"It’s a better location, a much bigger location. We're going to have wifi, beer, booths, a huge patio -- we’re so excited," Felix said.

The updated look is planned for all of the chain's locations, Felix said, with some retro-fitting their current stores.

The move is expected sometime in May, Felix said.
