BETHESDA, MD — The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Montgomery County has grown by 84 since Wednesday, according to Maryland health officials, bringing its total to 19,264.

In that same time span, one more person has died from the new coronavirus — pushing the local fatality count to 775. Another 39 people may have died from COVID-19, but a laboratory test is still needed to confirm the cause of death.

The county continues to have the highest number of deaths in the state. It also has the second highest number of confirmed cases, after Prince George's County, which has 25,058, according to the latest figures.

Statewide, there have been 102,229 confirmed cases, 3,531 deaths, and 138 "probable deaths." Of the 455 people currently hospitalized, 107 are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
