Down in the District: Potty Mouths in the Cubicle, Adorable Seal Pups

We know: Montgomery County's the best place in the area to live, work, play, learn and eat. Though, sometimes, we get a yen to peek into the lives of our neighbors to the south. You know, the ones living in that tiny, little place called Washington, DC? 

Here's a cheat sheet of what's going on in the District:

• Because actually seeing your fellow Metro riders is overrated: Personal space invaders, beware, a Maryland woman has created a "sensory shield," a "collapsible partition for use on Metro, airplanes, buses or any crowded environment."

• Looky-loo, baby animals! The National Zoo recently reopened the American Trail exhibit that drops a little bit of the West Coast in the nation's capital, including baby sea lion pups playing in pools. 

• You've probably dropped an f-bomb today: DC workers were much more likely to admit cursing at work than workers in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago--62 percent of us say we aren't afraid of bad words in the cubicle. 

• DC homeless advocate honored with a potluck lunch: The late Brian Anders, a man who championed space and resources for homeless people in the District, was memorialized today with a lunch and service. (Click to learn more about his work.)
