BETHESDA, MD — A kids social club has a grand opening set this weekend for its first DMV location. The Bunny Hive offers classes and space for young children and their families to learn, play, and socialize

The studio is located in Bethesda at 4925 Auburn Ave. The grand opening will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11. Families can reserve a complimentary one-hour time slot for playtime, arts and crafts, treats and tour what the new studio has to offer, according to a news release.

The Bunny Hive focuses on early childhood enrichment and is designed to help caregivers enjoy quality time with their little ones while building connections with a supportive local community. The business offers 30-minute classes for children from two weeks old through kindergarten, including music, art, sensory play, baby massage, toddler ballet, and more.

The Bethesda studio is owned by Jordan Smith, a Silver Springs resident and mom of two daughters ages two and two months. With a background in marketing and studio management, Jordan saw the impact of connection while leading community-focused yoga spaces. Inspired by motherhood, she wanted to create a welcoming “third space” in Bethesda where families can feel supported and at home.

“After having my first daughter, I immediately felt the need for community during that major life transition,” Smith said in a news release. “I wanted to create a space in Bethesda where parents can connect, feel supported, and build friendships that last beyond the early years.”

In the main space called “The Hive,” little ones can explore slides, a play tent, ball pit, cushioned blocks, dress-up items, and more. A dedicated studio room features a toddler bar for classes, while communal and kid-sized tables create a cozy, home-like setting.

The studio also includes a bathroom with a diaper-changing station.

In addition to daily classes, members can enjoy seasonal events like a Halloween social, daddy-daughter Valentine’s dance, Easter celebrations, and story time with Santa, as well as expert-led experiences on topics like sleep and nutrition.

There is a Towson Bunny Hive location at 810 Kenilworth Drive.

The Bunny Hive Bethesda will also be available for private event rentals such as birthdays, baby showers, and other celebrations — Saturdays after 1 p.m. and all-day Sundays — for $900 per three-hour session, including full studio access and on-site staff support. Additional hours are $300 an hour.

Families can choose from memberships, class packs, or drop-ins. Founding memberships are available for $225 a month (normally $275) for unlimited classes, 50 percent off premium events, and apply to the entire family. Memberships are month-to-month and available at thebunnyhive.com/Bethesda.

Business hours for Bunny Hive Bethesda are Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
