For Restaurants, What's In a Name?

A Bethesda pizzeria has changed its name following a dispute with the owner of a similarly-named restaurant nearby, Bethesda Magazine reports.

The Red Tomato Pizzeria at 7812 Old Georgetown Road has changed its name after owners of the nearby a longtime St. Elmo Avenue restaurant, demanded the eatery stop using the name, Bethesda Magazine's Table Talk blog reports.

The Red Tomato Pizzeria is now known as Bel Piatto Pizza, according to Table Talk, after changing its name under a court order.

Red Tomato Cafe owner Fay Namin told Table Talk that the nearby restaurant with a similar name left diners confused.
