Former Bethesda Teacher Sentenced To Prison For Child Porn: Report
The Silver Spring man will also pay a fine.

A former Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School special education teacher who taught for more than 35 years was sentenced to more than three years in prison Monday for child porn, according to the Washington Post.
Peter Flynn of Silver Spring was arrested in January 2015 and admitting in July to possessing more than 28,000 pornographic images and 795 videos of children on two computers at his home.
None of the children in the images were students he had taught.

Flynn was sentenced to 45 months in prison and was ordered to pay a $12,500 fine, the Post reported.
“The allegations against him in this case are not related to his job,” Montgomery County Schools spokeswoman Dana Tofig said in a statement after he pled guilty. “As soon as we were notified that an indictment had been handed down, the principal notified the community as quickly as possible.”

The district said Flynn began in MCPS in May 1978 as a substitute teacher’s assistant. He was hired as a special education paraeducator at B-CC in 1979 and in 1980 became a special education teacher at B-CC and worked there until September.
