BETHESDA, MD — The Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School Crew team is holding a fundraiser to buy two new boats for the upcoming spring season.

Nearly 100 high school students row for the B-CC Crew team each year. They train five to six days a week for the entire school year and race in one of the country’s most competitive high school rowing divisions. The team often medals at state, regional and national championships.

“Some of these races come down to fractions of a second ... and the boats they row make a difference in these critical moments,” Rachel White, who organized the fundraiser, wrote on the GoFundMe page. "It has been five years since the boy's team had a new boat, and six years for our girls. The team needs to buy TWO new boats this spring. We need your help."
