Why Go: Kick off an artful weekend in Bethesda with the Bethesda Art Walk, when downtown Bethesda galleries stay open late to showcase the work of local, national and international artists.

Where/When: 10a.m. to 5p.m. May 14 and 15 along Norfolk, Auburn and Del Ray Avenues in Bethesda’s Woodmont Triangle
Why Go: Over 20,000 are expected over the course of the weekend at this festival that will draw 140 artists from all over the country to display their artwork outdoors.

Why Go: Get a glimpse inside unique Bethesda and Potomac homes, get decorating ideas, and support a good cause at the same time. The tour is organized by Congregation Har Shalom.

Where/When: 6p.m. to 12a.m. May 14 at Glen Echo Park, 7300 Macarthur Boulevard in Glen Echo
Why Go: A swing dance lesson in the Spanish ballroom kicks of at 8p.m. followed by dancing, live music, carousel rides, desserts by Georgetown Cupcake, and cameos by local officials. Ticket proceeds will support arts and educational programs at the park as well as maintenance of the site’s historic structures.
