Get Out: Patch Picks for the Weekend
Cherry blossoms, art receptions, and live theater round out the weekend.

It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend.
Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check our picks for the activities to hit, bars and restaurants to explore, and arts and entertainment choices.
1.)
Where/When: 7a.m. to 5p.m. daily. The walk begins at the Starbucks at 4701 Sangamore Road in Bethesda.
Why Go: Take this self-guided walk along the Capital Crescent Trail, sponsored by the Seneca Valley Sugarloafers Volksmarch Club, and catch a glimpse of Kenwood’s famous cherry blossoms. Or, stop by Kenwood anytime this weekend to view the blossoms and avoid the crowds at the Tidal Basin.

Where/When: 2-5p.m. Friday, 11a.m.-5p.m. Saturday and 1-5p.m. Sunday at the Woman’s Club of Chevy Chase, 7931 Connecticut Avenue. A champagne reception is planned for 8-10p.m. Friday.
Why Go: For its 36th year running, this event will feature the work of over 100 local artists in oils, watercolors, pastels, acrylics, photography, and other mediums. Proceeds benefit the WCCC Art Scholarship Fund.
Pricing: A $6 donation is recommended for the reception.

Where/When: 1:30p.m.-3:30p.m. Sunday at the Dennis and Phillip Ratner Museum, 10001 Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda.
Why Go: Check out this exhibit of artwork on paper by artists Cindy Cole, Lynda Goldberg, Dorothy Frye, Westen Muntain and Philip Bennet.

Where/When: 7p.m. – 9p.m. Saturday at the new Howard Avenue Arts Incubator, 4218 Howard Ave. in Kensington.
Why Go: This brand-new gallery in Kensington is kicking off its inaugural exhibit, a photography display entitled “Looking In, Looking Through.”

5.)
Where/When: 8p.m. Saturday at Sunrise at Fox Hill, 8300 Burdette Road in Bethesda.
Why Go: This dramatic comedy is based on a breast cancer support group. Among the performers are breast cancer survivors Meg Baker and Susan Dailey.
Pricing: Donations will benefit the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.
