Historic Baking Company Eyes First MD Location

A company that has been selling flour since 1790 will open a pop-up shop in Montgomery County, offering baking tools, ingredients and more.

BETHESDA, MD — A company with more than 200 years of history will open a pop-up store in August at the Shops at Wildwood, 10207 Old Georgetown Road, in Bethesda.

The King Arthur Baking Company pop-up will be the business' first location in Maryland.

"You'll find a wide range of baking essentials, including ingredients, mixes, tools, accessories, kitchen appliances, gifts, and much more," the company said.

The MoCo Show reported the site King Arthur will move into was occupied by Indigo Octopus, which is relocating to Bethesda Row.

The company's website says it will open in August, no specific date was listed. Business hours will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Sunday.

The MoCo Show said the shop will be open through the holidays.

The company offers cooking classes at its stores in Norwich, Vermont, and Skagit Valley, Washington, as well as online. There is also a King Arthur Baking Company pop-up store in Fairfax, Virginia.
