CHEVY CHASE, MD — When the RVs and trucks started showing up on the quiet residential street in Chevy Chase, it looked like Cousin Eddie and his extended family had returned for a spring break visit and were planning another extended stay.

The people in the vehicles had also shown up with lights, but not the decorative Christmas-style to hang on the house.

As neighbors became curious about the new guests early last week, they learned a film crew had taken over the house on the corner of Leland Street and Rolling Road, a block from Beach Drive.

The crew told neighbors that BET was using the house to make a film, with a working title of "Wake" that might be streamed on BET+. On at least one day last week, work on the film started at around 6:30 p.m. and continued into the night.

According to the word on the street, the RVs and trucks would be there for about a week to 10 days. Neighbors have not reported seeing or hearing actors Randy Quaid and Chevy Chase arguing inside one of the RVs.
