Level Playing Field Hosts Field Day Fundraiser
All proceeds will benefit sporting equipment and registration fees for underprivileged children.
From LPF: Leveling the Playing Field (LPF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to giving underprivileged children the opportunity to enjoy the mental and physical benefits of youth sports participation through the donation of used and excess sporting equipment to programs and schools who serve low-income communities. Donations to LPF allow programs to allocate saved funds towards lowering registration fees, expanding scholarship programs, enhancing existing athletic programs and developing new ones. Since it’s inception in 2013, LPF has distributed over two million dollars worth of sporting equipment to over 400 schools and youth development programs.
WHAT: A fundraising effort to provide free sporting equipment to students in need in the DC area, both kids and adults can participate in field day games. Teams will compete against one another for some amazing prizes including sports tickets, memorabilia and more. Stations will include everything from relay and 3-legged races to water balloon and frisbee toss. Participants will be joined by some of the very kids who have benefitted from LPF’s equipment program.
This event will take place in two shifts. Snacks and refreshments will be provided, and all participants will receive a t-shirt!

One in five underserved families are not getting their kids involved in athletics because of the price of equipment. Only 38% of kids from families with a household income of $25,000 or less are playing team sports, contrasted with a 67% of kids from homes with annual incomes of $100,000 or more.
HOW: Adults and kids can register early (before April 30th) for $25 at www.levelingtheplayingfield.org.For sponsorship opportunities contact Maitlyn Healy at maitlyn@levelingtheplayingfield.org or 301-844-5622
