Long-Time Columbia Country Club Golf Pro Selected For Hall Of Fame
Bob Dolan, who retired after 27 years at Columbia Country Club in Chevy Chase, has been selected for the Mid-Atlantic PGA Hall of Fame.
CHEVY CHASE, MD — Bob Dolan, who recently retired after 27 years as the PGA head professional at Columbia Country Club in Chevy Chase, has been selected for the Middle Atlantic Section of the PGA of America (MAPGA) Hall of Fame Class of 2023.
Dolan was an active member of the MAPGA, serving as its president in 2002-2003. He was selected as the recipient of the PGA’s National Youth Player Development Award in 2000 and the National Bill Strausbaugh Award in 2011.
Dolan was the chair when the MAPGA started its Junior Tour in 1998. He started the first MAPGA Employment Summit, which branched out to MAPGA chapters due to its success.

In December, Columbia Country Club announced Steve Delmar as its new head golf professional, replacing Dolan.

Columbia Country Club, located at 6100 Connecticut Ave. in Chevy Chase, hosted the U.S. Open in 1921. Along with an 18-hole golf course and golf practice facility, the country club has 17 outdoor tennis courts, four indoor tennis courts, seven paddle tennis courts, a fitness facility, three swimming pools, eight lanes of duckpin bowling, an outdoor ice rink, an 18-room guest house, a nature trail and greenhouses.
On Wednesday, MAPGA also announced that Glenn Brown, the long-time PGA head professional at Westwood Country Club in Vienna who retired in 2018, has been selected for the MAPGA Hall of Fame Class of 2023.
“Both gentlemen are legends in their profession and boast a track record of excellence in representing the Middle Atlantic PGA, their respective clubs and the game of golf for decades,” Jon Guhl, executive director of the Middle Atlantic PGA, said in a statement.
Dolan and Brown will become the 57th and 58th members of the MAPGA Hall of Fame when they are officially inducted on Feb. 19 during the association’s annual awards banquet at Lansdowne Resort & Spa in Leesburg.
