Man Burglarizes Bethesda Home With Key Stolen From Locker Room
Police say a man stole a wallet and keys from an aquatic center in Rockville and used them to break into an apartment in Bethesda.
BETHESDA, MD — Police are searching for a man they say stole a wallet and keys from a public swimming pool and used them to break into a man's apartment in Bethesda.
The man allegedly stole the items from an "unsecured area" of the locker room at the Kennedy Shriver Aquatic Center in Rockville at about 3 p.m. July 19.
The victim returned to his apartment on Westlake Drive in Bethesda and noticed several items were stolen, including jewelry, police said.

Surveillance video from the victim’s apartment building showed the suspect enter the building at about 3:15 p.m. Footage from the pool showed the suspect at the pool during the same time period that the items were stolen, police said.
Detectives determined the suspect used the victim's stolen keys to enter the apartment.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information about this burglary is asked to contact the 2nd District Investigative Section at 240-773-6710. To be eligible for a reward, tipsters may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) or enter a tip online. Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest and /or indictment of the suspect. Tipsters will remain anonymous.
