Police are searching for a man who falsely identified himself as a police officer after he tried to pay with a counterfeit bill.

NORTH BETHESDA, MD — Police are searching for a man who falsely identified himself as a police officer after he tried to pay with a counterfeit bill at a North Bethesda business.
The unknown suspect attempted to pay for frozen yogurt at Sweet Frog at 11520 Rockville Pike with a fake $100 bill on the evening of Feb. 11, police said. The store employee determined the bill was fake and told the suspect he was calling the police.
The suspect then produced what appeared to be a police badge, said he was a police officer and told the employee he would take the bill back. The employee kept the bill and the suspect ran from the store, police said.
