Happy Memorial Day! Here’s a few things you should know about county services and nearby celebrations and observances today.
In Rockville Town Center, the Memorial Day ceremony kicks off at 9:30a.m.as part of the weekend-long Hometown Holidays celebration. The Memorial Day parade follows at 10:30a.m. In downtown Bethesda, the begins at 10:30a.m. at Veteran’s Park at Woodmont and Norfolk Ave. Former congresswoman and delegate Constance A. Morella will speak.

County offices and libraries are closed. County liquor stores are open from 10a.m-6p.m., though Burtonsville, Cabin John and Diamond Square are closed. RideOn, Metrobus and Metrorail are operating on Sunday schedules, and there is no refuse or recycling pickup today. MCPS administrative offices, state offices and courts are closed.
On the upside, parking at lots, garages and meters is free.
