Metro Bus Wreck in Chevy Chase

Driver seriously injured, nearly a dozen others evaluated after wreck, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue.

CHEVY CHASE, MD — The bus driver and nearly a dozen passengers were injured when a Metro bus was involved in a wreck Monday afternoon in Chevy Chase.

The wreck was reported around 4 p.m. near the intersection of East-West Hwy and Grubb Road, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesperson Pete Piringer.

The incident involved the bus and a truck, with the bus ending up striking a tree on the side of the roadway.

The driver was initially pinned inside the bus and sustained serious injuries, reports WTOP.
