Suspect Accused Of Stealing Credit Cards, Using Them At Home Depot In Bethesda
A man is accused of stealing credit cards from cars in Bethesda and using them to commit credit card fraud at a nearby Home Depot store.

BETHESDA, MD —Montgomery County police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man suspected of stealing credit cards from cars in the Bethesda area over the past several months and then using them to commit credit card fraud at a nearby Home Depot store.
Police detectives released surveillance photos of the suspect on Friday.
On Aug. 31, a victim reported that his credit cards were stolen from his car and were used at a Home Depot in Bethesda to make fraudulent purchases of gift cards, police said.

In another case, a victim from Fauquier County, Virginia, reported her credit cards were stolen from her car in Bethesda late Sept. 10 or early Sept. 11. Her cards were then used at the Home Depot in Bethesda on Sept. 11 to purchase gift cards, according to police.
In the latest incident, a victim reported Jan. 12 that her wallet was stolen from her car in the overnight hours. Police determined that the suspect made multiple transactions, including purchasing gift cards, by using the victim’s credit cards at the Home Depot in Bethesda.

The suspect is described as a Black male, in his 50s or 60s, with a slim build, police said.
Anyone with information about the suspect or this crime is asked to contact Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect.
