Police Identify Victim In Fatal North Bethesda House Fire
Police have released the name of the man who died in a house fire in North Bethesda Sept. 10.

BETHESDA, MD — Police have released the name of the man who died in a house fire in North Bethesda Sept. 10. The decedent has been identified as Askia Khafra, 21, of Silver Spring.
At about 4:23 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10 authorities responded to a house fire in the 5200 block of Danbury Rd. After they extinguished the fire, the firefighters entered the house and found the Khafra's body inside the residence, police said. (Get Patch’s real-time news alerts or like us on Facebook. Authorities located an additional adult male located outside of the home with non-life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a local hospital, police said.

Khafra’s autopsy results are pending and a further update will be provided once the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has determined the manner and cause of death, police said.
